Our 2/28/15 #DisneySide @Home Celebration

Disclosure: I received free products in order to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration from Disney Parks and MomSelect. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

A few of my friends were selected to host Disney Side parties last year, so when I saw the chance to apply to host one of my own, I jumped on it. I was beyond thrilled to receive the email below on January 5.

Funny enough, I was headed down to the Walt Disney World Resort the very next day so I could participate in the Dopey Challenge followed by a cruise on the Disney Dream so I could complete the inaugural Castaway Cay Challenge as well. Perfect timing!

I had still more traveling to do in the coming weeks, so I had to set our party date for February 28. Nothing like getting down to the wire, since the party had to be held in either January or February! I invited my local friends and clients via Facebook and couldn't wait to see what would be in my party kit.

I thought I took a photo of the entire party kit, but I can't seem to find the image now. I did take a photo of the laundry supplies that were included, however. Who knew my Disney Side was so dirty? (Or is that so clean?) Either way, these supplies were a nice, unexpected touch.
One of my pre-party trips was to Sarasota, FL for the inaugural Sarasota Music Half Marathon. Naturally, I "had" to stop at Epcot on the way down. While there, Guest Relations hooked me up with some fun "I'm Celebrating" buttons to use as party favors:

Finally party day arrived. It was a true group effort to get ready. When I first saw that our party kit included a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake pan by Wilton and Tie-Dye Cake Mix by Duff Goldman, I was a bit overwhelmed by the complex baking project. My husband offered to bake the cake and my 14-year-old daughter volunteered to decorate. Whew... I was off the hook.

Here is my husband's pre-baked handiwork:

And here is my daughter's:

They both did a great job! For my part, I was busy making Mickey-shaped Rice Krispie treats.

I shamelessly lifted another party hostess' clever wording for our healthier snacks:

And then I had a bit of fun with the provided decorations. My children have asked if we can keep them in the kitchen and dining room, and so far we have.

We had a great group of friends join us. Everyone had fun playing Disney Parks trivia...

...and posing for silly photos:

Since most of our guests were adults, we never did manage to play Pin the Smile on Mickey. It made for a cute decoration anyway:

Everyone went home with goodies, including HP Create Memories You Keep packs, Disney Princess nail polish, Disney Princess Palace Pets, Mickey Mouse tattoos, Disney luggage tags and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pencils.

Many thanks to Disney Parks and MomSelect for the party kit and the opportunity to show off our Disney Side!
